We are committed to tackling the high cost of living and continuing the war on poverty by providing comprehensive social security and essential services while addressing the impact of rising prices on households. Over the next one to two years, the FOP plans to strengthen the comprehensive social security system. The initiative aims to reduce poverty, vulnerability, social exclusion, and inequality through targeted social assistance. The party will also implement social insurance for workers to prevent vulnerability and destitution due to income loss. Moreover, the FOP will ensure the National Minimum Wage increases in line with inflation and ensure compliance, and will protect the value of social grants for children, elderly and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

We will work to lower the cost of food by implementing VAT exemptions on essential items, supporting food security through land reform, promoting community and home gardens and acting against price fixing. The FOP also aims to ensure basic services remain affordable by maintaining and expanding subsidized provisions like water, housing, and electricity for low-income households, and by developing more subsidized human settlements. Furthermore, they will implement the National Health Insurance (NHI) to reduce medical costs and decrease energy bills by promoting cheaper or subsidized solar power. Equally, FOP will introduce measures to regulate rental prices for student accommodation and increase affordable rail and other commuter transport options in cities.
